Thread: Trial Replica Build

    Trial Replica Build

Hi every great builder and contributors on this forum. I have always being a car enthusiast especially the exotic ones, but I have never built one. I'm now taking up a challenge to build an exotic sports car from scratch. So before I embark on the build I'm building a model of it. My dream car is a Bugatti Veyron EB18-4, but I would prefer the rear end of a Bugatti Super Sport. I have started the model with waste boxes, filled it with foam in-between and now filler. Please I need motivations and advice, not discourage.

Your contributions will be highly appreciated

I enlarged a blueprint of the original to a certain scale, and measured the curves from original blueprint

You've got a great start. Now just do it in full scale.

I have built a few scale model cars similar to you and know how much work it is. This model looks really good. I like the addition of the filler. Gives it a more finished look. What did you use for filler?

Thanks all for your responses, they are highly appreciated. I used support foam from a package box. I think they are called polyester foam.
I have now cover the foam with all purpose filler.

And so the sanding begins... nice work good to see your finding your feet with it all. when your done if its big enough you could pull molds and build a go cart chassis for it.
if you have kids you would be the coolest daddy

That model is only a few inches long. He will have to enlarge it considerably to build a kids car from it.
