DNA 430 Build - the last UK 4Thirty DNA kit sold

    Hi All,

New to Mad Mechanics, and although 430 builds are old-hat, I thought I would publish my build.

As soon as I'm able to add pics I'll start loading some of the work carried out to date, and where the car currently sits.

    Steve.

I've always wanted to start a build since I visited DJ Sportscars many many years ago.

Last summer, decided on an MR2 based F430 replica. DNA are not doing this kit anymore and I picked up the last. There have been a lot built over the last years. Mine has just made it to the paint shop now, and I hope my posts don't. Bore cos it's all been done before.

    Thanks M.

I started with a 2002 Mk3 with 33,500 miles on it. Have to admit, it was a lovely little car and it hurt to take it apart, but I really didn't want to start with an old nail and have to rebuild the donor.

I think I need to put up this 3rd post before I can add pics - sure I read that somewhere. At the moment I don't seem to be able to add photos. Lets see.

Lots and lots of cutting and filing, and then dry fitting each piece of the bodywork - many times.

Suspension mods done and new wheels fitted - lovely.

Started bonding once the dry fit was complete.

Rear deck weighed down good and proper when bonding to the deck frame.

    Brake parts arrived....

'Carbon Ceramic' disks finished and painted up with Malaysian calipers.

Nice to see your project. We haven't seen that many 430 kits. I didn't know DNA stopped making the one for the Mr2. You just may be the first with a DNA 430 kit on Mad Mechanics. Not sure....

    Question:
I'm curious, what is the hole you made in the rear where the license plate would go?
