KOS Ferrari 355 build thread in texas

UPDATE...this is my official build thread so just read through the rad stuff first to get to the build..

I am looking for ideas to relocate the radiator on my car. With the hood on the 355 the radiator needs to be moved or angled or replaced with a smaller one, and I am looking get some ideas from what others have done...if you have some pics please send them along!

    Thanks
    Dan

    Re: fiero-355 radiator relocation

Which 355 kit are you using? My AD355 kit did not need the radiator moved at all.

well that is part of the problem, I am not sure whos kit it is. It does not have seperate rocker panels like some kits do, and the front and rear are all one piece.

if i dont remove the rad, the hood will hit it and not close.

Do like they do for the Countach .. drop it down a few inches and angle it back..

One of my kits similar to yours. What I did was losen up the radiator and lean it backwards so it clears the hood once it is closed and then bolt it into place. You will not even have to disconnect it to do this.

    Re: fiero-355 radiator relocation

I will get some pics together here shortly. So you guys can see my kit.

I am really looking for some ideas, my first thought is to do like ferrari-spyder said and just drop it back and bolt it into place. I am also debating making a new metal insert for up front where it could be more custom as I may possible move my battery in there as well. Maybe make it out of diamond plate or something...

    Re: fiero-355 radiator relocation

we done 3 ifg rough installs ,put the front of the car on ramp stands remove the radiator , now remove the lower radiator bracket it should be 2 or 4 bolts 10mm or 13mm, save the bolts ,get a piece of 1" by 3" tubing cut 2 short pieces ,take the bracket an drill an tap new wholes in the tubing while it is still off ,make sure both pc. of tubing have wholes drill the same distace front to back now take the tubing under the front of car an tack weld the tubing on both sides no reinstall the bracket ,now test fit the radiator it is now siting 3 inches lower in the chassis
In the USA if you pay a company / person to start a plug, then it,s your plug and work ,it is not theirs to sell or trade !!
