newcomer looking for a quality manufacturer

Hello all, I have been looking through your forums and have found them to be full of information and helpful people; just what I need. I am looking to do a fiero based kit but am having some trouble getting information on what manufacturers make a quality kit along with great customer service. This will be my first build and I have great mechanical skills, basic body work skills, and have yet to learn to weld. I have not chosen the type of replica I want to do so I am open to anything. Please post your favorite manufacturers and experiences with them; and some photos if you have them. Thanks, Paul.

After looking into it a little further, I am leaning towards the second generation toyota mr2 as a base platform. I can get an early model turbo for just a little more than the limited 88 fiero gt; and have more performance options.

Just use the Fiero, the stretch is so much easier and carkitinc.com sells a g28 body kit that looks pretty good.

You have to first choose the replica then the donor, not the other way around! I think the Mr2 is well suited for some builds but not for others. Another piece of advice would be to stay away from IKR!

Do your research, I have had a few Fiero based cars. There are some great builders and kits for them. Do not buy unless you have the opportunity to see and touch the kit and there is plenty of customer support during the build especially since this is your first.

    Good luck!!!

If you want to stay manufacturer stock, I agree the mr2 would give more performance, but look at all the engine options with a fiero, both modified and stock. For stock the mr2 is much more advanced.
