    There are some nice designs in these custom supercar games, Ridge Racer has some good ones but unfortunately its not possible to rip the models out.

    I made a 3D overlay of the Italia on the newer MR2 in this video.

    The possibilities are endless for kits and replicas when you chop the top off and replace with custom framing.....
    Bart's Gallardo is a perfect replica...because of not needing to change the car to fit the imperfect roof line, windscreen angle, etc.

    Note: I understand that in some European countries the above method makes it harder if not impossible to get registration for road use, which is why it is not more popular, I assume.

    Thanks for posting this, I agree the most important part is the a-pillar and roof line where even a clunker like a Cavalier can be transformed to look amazing... this is a chop I did by a members idea in the old 458 donor thread

    If I had the resources I would make a replica like this on POS donor

    On another note here is a new Sunfire mod made in Quebec Canada I believe. Nice front but not so much the rest.

    There is always re-bodying a cheap sports car till then... Im thinking of doing one of these Ferrari Italia designs on the front end of my ZX.

    The modified cavilier actually looks good until you start to look at the rear end of the car, which becomes very disproportionate and imho abnormal looking because of the shorter wheelbase and "rear" of the car (behind the rear wheels) being too long. IMHO, this is the biggest issue with the DN8 because of the donor chosen. The front 3/4 of the car looks great and is dead on, and even with a wheelbase that is OK or slightly larger, the back of the car, while well designed is disproportionate because of the added extra lenght behind the rear wheels. I'm sure the cars will look nice when completed but the rear of the car is far from the original.

    I dont think the difference will effect it too much... when making that photochop I only trimmed the bummer a bit, maybe a lot more can be shortened if it looks odd.

    An update on my project;
    Im going to make the following front conversion kit for my ZX
    I still have to source headlights for it, but the stock ones dont look too bad if one was to illegally dress it up as in the video.

    My plan

    Here is an early 90's 240SX with Ferrari GTO styling wrapped around. This was made for a member that may be interested in putting classic Ferrari styling on this a Nissan as the donor. Any parties interested could make a group effort in building this.

    Video included at the bottom.

    For my own project Im currently designing an Enzo concept which I'll be making a small 1/5 scale toy of and this will also be my test bed before I have my completed CNC machine carve the large kit.

    Here is a wide rear body I may make after the front kit.
