    ford gt replica

How many people here believe a replica of the 2005 ford gt would sell. consider the fact that it just went out of production, a supercharged v8 would be easy to get a hold of , also a wrecked ford gt to pull molds of of would also be easy to find and cheap to buy you could just replace the damaged panels and its good as new, and once your done pulling molds you could sell for up to $299,000+ dollars. and dont forget that the chassis is simple or that you could modify the chassis from gt40 replicas, another thing is that parts for the ford gt are easy to come by because most parts come from other cars.

I'm pretty sure those are replicas of the original gt40. Here is a photoshop of a modified avenger that I would like to build one day when I get done with my vette.

Personally, I don't think it would sell. I posted a link a year or 2 ago to a wrecked one with very minor damage - only the left quarter and rear hatch had any damage; no frame or structural damage at all. It was for sale at auction, and I'm sure it went cheap. The only responses to my post were critical of the car, even suggesting the futility in building a replica of a $125,000 car rather than a $400,000 60's era GT40.
It is a beautiful car though, even better in person

the new ford gt is already selling for over $300,000 in most auctions.

Would you post a before pic of the avenger? I would like to compare the modifications you made to make it look that good. I can get my hands on an abandoned avenger (or avenger copy).

If anyone goes through with this, I'd suggest starting with a rear section from a GT40 rep - ERA, or Lonestar, or one of the others would probably get you one for relatively low cost. The Avenger rear end is totally different in every dimension.

On that note - is anyone sure this isn't a Valkyrie? The Valkyrie/Avenger is way before my time, but I thought the Valk was longer? This car looks longer than a VW.

I extended the wheelbase..... in front of the door instead of behind. It is an avenger. Just heavily manipulated. The same way I am doing my corvette.
