    Exotic Illusions: shop burned down

I just heard today that Exotic Illusions in Dixon City PA has burned to the ground. They are working on rebuilding, but if you were considering one of their Countach kits, it may be a while until you can get one.

Nope. It was an electrical fire that started while the owner "Jimmy the Greek" was in the shop. I never formally met him, but I have seen him at shows, and I remember him checking out my countach very closely at the Carlisle show.

Bummer! I've had the pleasure to talk to Dimittri (sp?), several times over the years. He even asked for advice on stuffing LT1s on fieros for his Lambo kits which I gladly gave. I had already picked him as my builder of choice when the time comes. He is one of the best ones, if not the best, in the business, IMHO.

Hope the shop comes back even better and stronger.
If it doesn't, I still have a back up builder, the R in D&R.

... here is to a great come back!!!

The R in D&R sold Jimmy the Greek (Demitri) a countach body to make new molds. So if you buy an EI countach from now on, it will actually be a D&R. I'm pretty sure the old D&R body was originally molded from an EI body. They have both gone through a lot of changes over the years, so it really doesn't matter any more.

    Are you serious?
Wow, amazing how things turn out sometimes.
I guess it will all come down to the know how "laying the fiber" huh?

So, is it safe to assume the Greek's mold went up in flames too?
You would think the molds were kept is a safe place away from the shop.
After all, the molds are his whole business... hmmm.

Oh well, is good to know that at least he still have a faily accurate replica.
