Flying Ferrari to take to the air in two years?

Flying Ferrari to take to the air in two years?

I found this to be pretty amusing

Here is what the article said:

    ""
Flying Ferrari to take to the air in two years?

As if the flying car stories weren't getting outrageous enough, now we're hearing about a flying Ferrari. Moller International, that company that keeps on saying there's a flying car just around the corner, now doubles down with its latest concept, the $813,000 flying Ferrari 599 GTB.

The ambitious company, headed up by designer Bruce Calkins, plans to roll out the first example of this 150mph beast in two years. It'll have an 800hp hybrid gas/electric power plant under the hood, blasting air through its eight thrusters to get the thing off the ground. Using that system, Calkins says it'll have a range of 75 miles through the air and 150 miles on the ground, with a maximum altitude of 5000 feet.

The designers are using the shape of the Ferrari 599 GTB, because it has "the general shape and layout" they're looking for. There's no word on what Ferrari thinks of this "borrowing" of its design for this vehicle which seems more fantasy than fact. But then, stranger things have happened. If Moller International was looking to copy a great shape for flying, it should have taken a gander at this Ferrari Monza concept. ""

He's absolutely serious. He spoke at a conference I was at a couple of years ago. His flying car with the rotating turbo fan on each corner has already made its first flight, although it had significant control issues, thus, no big news story. www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7UyspBr0-8&NR=1 , I did see the footage he brought with him. The reason he was invited to speak at the conference was that during his struggle to build the car, and come up with the funds needed, he had to invent another product that would bring in enough money to fund his first one. He did. If you've ridden a modern motorcycle, chances are it used his product. I'm not totally up on motorcycles, but apparently there is a muffler type sleeve, or something like that, that is used on just about all production street bikes now. He owns the patent. The money he brings in goes towards his research into the flying car. The guy is amazing. His persistence in sticking with this project makes me think he must of cut his teeth on kit cars! ;D

Well he is persistent but I can't really see that as a flying car...that's more of a flying craft.... :-\

But then again it starts with a dream......

These people are complete flakes. This stupid Moller flying car has been tauted for over a decade and they have yet to make a SINGLE untethered flight. If you Google the "designer" you get links to UFO sightings, etc. They are morons and charlatans.
What they ARE good at is getting press on their manipulative fantasies. This is just another in a long line of the same.
IGNORE THEM! Don't get sucked in!

Yeah, chill man. As far as the flakes and charlatans go, that's what they said about Ford, the Wright Bros., Walt Disney, and even kit car builders! LOL

They also said that about Bernie Madoff, Charles Ponzi and (most entertaining) Jerry (Geraldine) Carmichael of “Dale Motors” fame.
Since you like this stuff so much, I would like to recommend a Nigerian banking “opportunity” you might find interesting…
