    Re: Corson #25

Hey fellow Corson owners. I while back I tried to start a Corson registry without much response. Maybe it's time to try again. I have Spyder #076 that I bought from Randy Corson in the Summer of 1994. I had it on the road, Easter weekend 1997.
Based on a low mileage '86 Fiero.
    Held Motorsports Wide-Track front suspension.
'88 engine cradle & suspension with Held coil-over KYB struts.
Wilwood 4-piston brake calipers with 13" rotors on front/11.3" rotors on back.
All rotors are vented, cross-drilled, slotted and anodized.
3.4 DOHC Z34 (LQ1) engine, Getrag 5-speed with Engineered Performance LCD.
Custom leather interior, progressive scan DVD audio/video system with Alphasonic MOSfet amps & Infinity speakers.
17" ABS Z06 polished aluminum wheels with Hankook Ventus V-4 W-speed rated performance tires.
    Front 17x8.5 (225x45-17) Rear 17x9.5 (245/45-17)

    See my car at:

If you would like to register your Corson vehicle, send me the pertinent information to rbeem@windstream.net.
I'll share the registry with all that are registered.

    Thanks.

    Rick,

Please add #25 to your list. I am not the builder of #25 just the new owner. I was hoping by posting the car here that perhaps past owners and maybe the builder of #25 will chime in. I'd like to see build pictures of #25, if there are any to be had. You may email me at f40ferrari@comcast.net with your registry info. Thanks for sharing photos of #76. I believe there are less than 100 Corsons sold and would love see pictures of each.

Dana, i just you an e-mail.

Hi Rick. I wondered what happened to your site. My car has been re-built since we last communicated. Well, actually it's STILL being re-built but it's MUCH improved. No real good pics to share just yet unless i remove the clutter and push it out of the garage for a photo session.

It's so hard to believe the info-pack was only 5 bucks back then! I wish I still had what they sent me (1989 or so). I remember I got the Corson info-pack around the same time I got one from a Florida based 288 GTO kit company (can't remember which now). I haven't been lucky enough to own either but I did do interior work on a 288 GTO replica, around the time that I was driving a Cobra replica (albeit sans title in my name).

There was the Mera and then the Corson. It's not hard to see why Ferrari shut them down.

    Wow, what a fantastic thread!
I was wondering what the handling and performance is like on these cars. In the UK I have a 1978 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 that I love to bits. It has the same engine as the early euro 308s (3 litre V8) and although not majorly quick by modern supercar standards does 0-100 kph in arround 6 secs and handles like its on rails. However the trade-off is that itís really not nice on a very long drive, VERY loud exhaust 120db + from the back, very hot inside even with the AC on full, induction intake right behind my right ear and no suspension. However, many say itís as close an F1 sound you can get, no fancy electronics or valves to alter the exhaust note
Still its one of those cars that makes you smile when you drive it. I know itís not everyoneís favourite fezza, but it was the one that I always wanted right from when I was a kid.
The look hasnít aged either, although 31 years old the shape hasnít aged at all (IMHO).

I can't report on the handling and performance yet as I purchased this car just in time to put it in storage for the Winter, but come Spring ........

    Very nice Dino 308 GT4!

I see Corson had a VHS video. Anyone have this video kicking around?
