Actually there is a new Audi transmission out that makes it where you don't have to cut into the cabin of the mr2. Now they are working on putting a BMW v12 in them with it.

Wish I would have known about them before I started my project :-)

    That's the Toyota 1uzfe build I'm doing

My v8 is already bolted in with the 01X 6 speed box, same wheel base just needed to refabricate new fire wall.

Nice!!! Have any pics? The transmission I showed a picture of above allows you to do the Audi v8 swap without stretching or cutting the car. Not even the firewall. I want to buy another mr2 and go this route.

I'm pretty sure this transmission is the same size as other Audi trans. The only thing is it places the out put shafts 7 inches closer than the rest. This makes it a great option for mr2s not having to stretch the car or intrude into the cabin of the car. I think it would make for a awesome 355 replica engine transplant.

The overall length might be the same but with the output shafts closer to the engine there will be more sticking out behind the rear axle line. If you are building a car with a real short rear that might be a problem.
