    The Boxster S/Cayman 6-speed is definitely a better box than the 5-speed. Porsche never used a transverse transmission. I am not sure if the axles will take 500HP but you will probably break something else before the axles. The Boxster/Cayman is a better handling car than the 911.

    It probably comes down to how much you want to spend and what your plans are for the car. Give us some details.

    I would think around $2500 for the trans wouldnt be to bad.... It's a 355 rep on a stretched fiero . The axels are custom built to handle 500hp. I think the Fiero gearbox will give long before they do. I'm really looking for a taller first gear and if I do some spirited driving between stop lights it wont leave a trail of trans parts.
