    1948 Tucker

    Hello all,

It's been a while since I posted. Hope everyone is doing well.

With 3 kit cars in my arsenal l thought I had enough of kit cars but I just can't help it. I have been thinking for a while now how much I always wanted a Tucker 48. With the auction prices showing over a million these days I thought maybe someone in the forum that may know of a uncompleted Tucker kit laying around in a barn somewhere. The only one That I have come across is Rob Ida in NJ who built 4 so far. By the look of his work, he probably wants as much as a house for it. By looking around the internet it seams a few people have started some but haven't seen one actually completed.

Any of you guys know of any in the US?

    Hey Sean,
Can't help on the Tucker. It'd be a cool build that's for sure.

Coincidently, I was going through your 360/430 build the other day.

Good to see you're still around. Have a good one...

    Hea Bob,

Thanks for your input. I heard a little here and there about Tucker projects that started but haven't seen much else. It would be nice to find an abandoned project instead of starting from scratch. I guess I'll just keep my eyes open and see what turns up.

The Tucker 48 is an automobile conceived by Preston Tucker and briefly produced in Chicago in 1948. Only 51 cars were made before the company ceased operations on March 3, 1949, due to negative publicity

Yes, That's Rob Ida. I haven't contacted him yet to see what the price tag is. I don't believe he sells kits. Just completed cars.
