Fiero hitches on Ferrari rebodys. 308/328 style

I'm looking for any info on Fiero hitches and if they work on 308 rebodys. Or anything with a rear in that style. Is it highly visible? Do they make a hidden type for behind the license plate? yadda yadda. anyone have pics?

BTW my 308s rear is more like a 288 instead. And I'm about to venture into swapping in a 3800 SC and the exhaust requires the removal of the lower part of the trunk. will this interfere? Thanks

If you cut out the trunk it is easy to make a hitch. I am making one for mine as I write this note. My body is 355 based so I have to make a lot of changes to get mine to look correct.

I am using a slab of 1/4 inch plate bolted to the Fiero sub bumper that is 15 inches wide and 9 inches tall. The bottom is tapered so it produces a flat area 4 inches wide on the bottom tapering up 2 inches as it reaches the edge of the plate. So if you looking at the rear of the car, the plate portion you see is a 4 inch wide plate with a hole in the center. Inside the whole is welded a 1 1/4 schedule 80 square tube that the hitch receiver slides into like on any other hitch. The rear portion of the square tube hooks to the center of the engine cradle with a bolt.

In addition I have moved my exhaust to the center of the bumper with the hitch in between the pipes. When no used to pull trailers I have a plug in part that has a Ferrari hood emblem mounted on it to hide the hitch.

I will post photos as soon as I can get it mounted to the car.

Here is how I did the bumpers and pipes.

The car will get two chrome pipes and a hitch in the bumper. It will look like a late model Corvette with a hitch in the center.

WOW, I never would have expected you to cut up that rear bumper and modify it, but the work looks great, pretty unique.
