You can purchase a non-stretch 355 kit from John Watson in Tennga, Georgia. Import it into Canada as parts.

    John's number is 706-328-3311

    Funnywheels,

Does John make the non-stretch version of a Spider, or he just makes the hardtop?

John makes them both. Standard wheelbase Fiero only. He has only made two long wheelbase cars, I have one and Duane Cox has the other. Those long wheelbase cars are a real pain to complete properly.

He has some ideas for reinforcing the frame on the Spider version.

I think looking back on the whole adventure, both Dave and I would have just opted for the Fiero wheel base length and be done with it.

Using Ferrari wheel base panels has caused us to retro fit the OEM panels to the fiero, spending additional countless hours on the project.

But, I am hoping the final product will be well worth it. ;D

Re:Where to buy 355 Kit in canada?

All of the Air Dynamics kits have separate rocker panels. The rear quarters are close to the same except for the position of the wheel opening being located 2 7/8 inches toward the rear and designed to fit the Ferrari not the Fiero. We had to use an OEM style rear bumper, (Moving the wheels back means you need a shorter bumper) OEM style lower door openings (the OEM style rear quarter has a scoop opening that you can put a small dog through so the door needs to match in addition the Fiero door is 2 inches too high and needs to be sectioned to fit the car properly) and OEM style rocker panels (the rockers need to be 2 7/8 inches longer since the wheelbase is moved back). It takes a lot of time just to locate the parts to build the car let alone the brackets and mechanical stuff.

After the door modifications, then there are other countless modifications that need to be modified on the car like raising up the metal weather strip support on the bottom of the door opening, door lock mechanicals, frame modifications, etc. Duane and I are pretty adventurous with our cars but want perfection. That passion has added a year to the build process. We are too far along to change our minds now. We are almost finished.
