Alex Koulygine, designer of the Plazma, dead...:-(

I was contacted by the NY Post's Liz Kelley concerning info on his relatives and what he did. Apparently he passed away recently and the police believe he was murdered. :'( The kitcar industry lost an innovative designer and someone that seemed to be a good man. She said she would pass on more info to me as it develops.

That sucks. I met him last summer at the Carlisle show in PA. He was chilling next to the car but seemed happy to talk about the Plazma. He was hoping to spark enough interest to get the kit into production. I think I annoyed him when I guessed he was from the Czech republic and he informed me that he was from Russia. He will be missed.

Alex was "murdered" by an SUV that made an illegal turn in front of him. He was on his motorcycle at the time. Here's the article from the NY Post: http://nypost.com/news/regionalnews/36469.htm

Here's my post at Pennock's that has some nice pics of him and his creations: http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/047971.html

That is such a shame I'll never forget the first time I saw the Plazma, his ideas and attention to detail will go down in the history books. What a talented person! He will be greatly missed not only as a person but a designer.
