Mike Vetter is known for using the top fron an early to mid 80's Sunbird or Cavalier. They are readily available at any local wrecking yard. I had to remove it myself at the wreckers, but only had to pay $60. for the one I got.You simply take all your mearurements and cut he roofwork down to the new size and reweld it while on the car to assure proper fit and allignment.

Hay thanks for the info that helped me out alot. I have been having the same problem. some custom shop wanted to charge me $13,00.00 for a top. Then I had told him it was only a kit and to go shove his $13,00.00. But thanks for the advice.

The sunbird framework is made mostly of cast aluminum or pot metal. Good luck welding it. The angle of the header is also way off, so much that it's not really useable. If you've modified one to work, I'd sure like to see pictures of it.

To use the cavalier or sunbird roof you also need to use part of the original Fiero top metal and polyfiber roof pannel with the GM conv. roof latches.

The one posted by Ambush is a LA Machine conversion, that's a scan of the flyer. I have a complete un-used kit with full documentation and undercarriage support. It's for sale if anyone is interested, I'm taking offers.

I'll have to take another look at the Sunbird/Cavalier (J-body?) top. I know I wasn't happy with the angle of the header, but I still planned on using the latches and hardware.

Do you still have the top for sale? I have an interested friend. Please e-mail me with your terms.

Oh, and why are you selling it?
