    Paul's 355 engine install

Hey guys, here's some pics of Paul in Canada sent me of his engine going into his 355. He had to in through the top since his custom/stretch subframe is welded in. Check out the radiator location. Certainly simplifies a lot of issues.

    Thanks Lance

I started it up last night and it sounds wonderful. Almost makes it worth all the trouble I've gone through. Kind of like shooting a 120 in golf at the 17th whole swearing you will never play golf again and then get a whole in one on the eighteenth. That's the best way to describe it.

    Regards
    Paul

Nice engine....what is the displacement and HP???

My question is : How do you get enough cool air flow with the radiator installed in the back of the car??? I'm not an expert on this installation but can you tell us how you plan to deal with overheating issues??

    Thanks

    Re: Paul's 355 engine install

    Hello goyal99

It's a 350 Chevy with between 325 to 340 horse. I didn't want to go much higher given the legthened rear axles and the stock 4 speed. I'll see how this goes first. Being a Chevy adding horsepower is relatively cheap.

With respect to the heating problem. I'm not an expert here either but I'm going by common sense. The way I see it as long as I'm going fast enough the conveniently located big ass air scoops in the side doors will draw cool air in to the engine bay and push the hot air up through the hood. Seriously speaking the final rad will be a 27.5" by 19" - 4 core radiator used by GM for many years. I really don't anticipate a heating problem. Also included will be a fan or two that will either push hot air through the top of the rear deck or pull hot air through the rear deck. I'm going to have to experiment as the muffler is behind the rad and I want to try and draw some of that heat out as well. If there are any other suggestions or solutions I'm all ears.

    Regards
    Paul
