Thread: Aftermarket headlights for Fiero?

    Aftermarket headlights for Fiero?

I'm looking for something a little different than usual... I love the look of the new sealed projector headlamps. Typically when a Fiero has new headlights, unless it's part of a kit, it just uses a bucket assembly with camaro or driving lights, sometimes with a piece of lexan over the opening in the hood..

    that's not what I want.

I've been looking at some APC ads in one of my import magazines, and they make aftermarket headlight assemblies for a lot of cars. I want to find one that would fit a Fiero, preferably without too many modifications to the hood.

anyone know where I could find a listing of these kinds of headlight assemblies? (with dimensions)

Most of the "turn key" F355 kit builders use Ford Probe headlamps. Fit right in the bucket and are lower profile so the lamp buckets don't have to be opened quite so far.

    Good looking too.

Do you need the Probe headlight motors too or just the headlights?

Just the bucket or light. The bucket needs to be "extended" from the original mounting location by around 6 inches so a new actuator arm is needed with whatever bucket you use, so fabbing one to work the Probe bucket is a snap.

Most guys cut the 355 kit lamp bucket so that it is just a "cover" and 'glass that new cover directly to the PRobe bucket's top. Then line everything up and BAM, done deal.

I believe the 1st gen. I don't know how different the two versions are but the guys from Mirage have been using the 1st gen.

hmm.. my dad used to have an 89 Probe LX.. fun car, though I didn't get to drive it because I was 9 years old at the time.. heh.

I'm looking for new headlights, with clear lenses.. not diamond-pattern ones like were used in the 80s, mid 90s..
