    What does Splash Mean?

Probably a dumb question but I do not know exactly. I have an idea but would like to be sure. Is it good or bad?

    Thanks,

    Re: What does Splash Mean?

Sometimes people interchange terms but usually when people "splash" a part (or sometimes an entire car), they mean they copy it.

For Example: Splashing a hood would mean to copy it by making a mold out of an original hood and then using the mold to make copies of more hoods.

Often with older kits or custom builds, there are simply no replacement parts available. This makes it necessary to copy an existing part or make on from scratch. After you make the part, you can make a mold (like a reverse image of the part) and then just make additional copies of it.

I saw an older post from about 3 years ago (cannot find now) where the guy was a boatbuilder and he mentioned that he could splash. Not sure if this is the same thing or not?
