    Availibility of Mercedes G-Klaase Kit?

Just found this Suzukui Samurai on EBAY for cheap and it's overall look is exactly like that of an MB G-Wagon. Seems like an excellent car to make into an MB clone:

    2000 Mercedes G-Class

    Thoughts?

I think it is going to be difficult, have you ever seen the real mercedes G- class in person? It is a bigger, more robust car in comparison to the suzuki samurai

yes, the merc is definately bigger, besides, with the amount of labour, effort and time you will invest in this kit, you might just as well buy the real G class..

Maybe it just would be better overall to just put on MB wheels and custom up an MB grill. I know the G-Class is much larger overall, but the Samurai could make a fun little mini-clone.

it would be cheaper to get a G wagon (military vehicle) and call it done, it was in use for 30 years before this thing came out.

In no way would it be cheaper to get a G-Wagon. This is why replicacars exist in the first place.

do a google search for Ibex... also check on www.totalkitcar.com of I think it is Scamp (look in the UK manufacturers list) or NCF. Also on Yahoo groups there is a Suzuki re-power with TDI group...

I encourage you to build a smaller "replica" of a G-Wagen.. It would be cool.. It you take a note from the Ibex, it is designed to use a Land Rover chassis (Range Rover I believe) and all the body panels are brake press patterns in metal...
