    Where Is The Gallardo Kit?

I really prefer the Gallardo over the Murci. Is this a car that anyone plans on splashing or making a kit for? What could be used as a donor? Would it have to be based on a totally designed tube chassis?

The Gallardo would also probably fit a Fiero, MR2 or Boxster donor better with less need to stretch the chassis.

there ain't even a decent Murci kit out yet, adn that is more expensive than the Gallardo... i doubt anyone will be making a gallardo kit anytime soon..

PS. Murci is getting dated now, when was it released? 98/99?, anyone knows what Lambo plans to replace it with?

According to Wikipedia, the Murci came out in 2001. Since the Diablo lasted from 1990-2001, I'd guess the Murci has 5 or 6 more years of production. Of course, Lamborghini has had financial troubles in the past couple decades and has changed ownership a few times, which could be the big reason the Diablo wasn't replaced sooner...

i think supercars should be replaced every 10 years in order to maintain value, but Ferrari are messing it up with releasing the F430 within such a 'short' period after the 360. I think the 360 was released in 1999.

on the other hand, some road cars which are being released nowadays are really taking on the supercars head on, as supercars no longer means 'superspeed'.. the new M3, M5, the new Audi R8, RS4, Porsche GT2 etc... they all perform pretty close to supercars and the gap is closing..

The Murcielago and Gallardo dueo is gonna be around for a while, they both race and people love them.

They both could be around for another 10years or so, the company is currently suffering from finanical issues still to this day so lamborghini might have to throw the hail marry soon or else we may never be looking into a replacement for the Murcielago and Gallardo.

Supercars are basicly replaced every 12years, but they are simlar to jets, look at the Mclaren F1 it will still rape 98% of the cars that dare challenge it.

I think if you want a decent donor car your gonna have to pay for it, buy an NSX, same wheelbase and no need for an engine swap. It would be about as easy as a rebody for an MR-2 chassis, all you need to do is replace the panels on the body.
So whats wrong with a replica?

Hey it's news to me that Lamborghini is still suffering from financial issues. I heard that they have turned around since Audi took over ownership. From the number of cars they have sold in Vegas alone I'd say they're doing well in Sin City at least! They throw parties for us at the dealership all the time!

Re: Where Is The Gallardo Kit?

    NSX Specs

    weight 1430 kg / 3153 lbs
    wheelbase 2530 mm / 99.6 in
    front track 1510 mm / 59.4 in
    rear track 1540 mm / 60.6 in
    length 4425 mm / 174.2 in
    width 1810 mm / 71.3 in
    height 1170 mm / 46.1 in

The Gallardo is 100.8" and the NSX is 99.6. It is probably close enough. I had actually considered this car before but decided against it because it appeared to have very large overhangs, especially in the rear. The weight is also quite excessive in comparison to the MR2 Spyder. Since I want a car with a rear end that is right at the rear wheels, ala Gallardo, I did not think it would work. Do any of you guys have any opinions on this?

Who is a good person to contact to try and restyle the NSX so it has a more modern and updated look? I want to be able to possibly make something as a body kit but not like the crap that is currently available.
