    911 Turbo

Well my most favorite car in the world is the 911 Turbo which is the best body kit for the older carreras the 993 Turbo or the 996 Turbo?

    Anyone seen this??

I look at this and it makes it hard to justify a DNA 360 BUT... 911 require alot of maintenance, and I'm just not a porsche guy.

I am a Porsche guy. They require far less maintenance than Ferrari or Lambo. There are a lot more sources for aftermarket parts and spares because Porsche built and sold more. I have not owned one in years but they are good cars. The key to buying any car is to do your homework. I don't care if you are buying a Toyota minivan or a 911 Turbo. One with 100,000 miles properly maintained is better than one with 30,000 miles with the original oil in it.

A toyota MR2 (DNA 360) requires far less maintenance than a Porsche anyday of the week.

Ferrari's are high maintenance But that is why I will never buy a real ferrari either.

Btw, I heard from a friend that is working on a kit to make the older carrera models like a 1985 Carrera into a newer 997 Turbo

    Re: 911 Turbo

I will mention from personal experience that driving a Porsche is fun. I did spend a ton of money on a 944 replacing timing belts and water pumps but other than that it was very cheep to drive. I owned it for 192,000 miles. I also owned a 1986 Wide Body Cabriolet. It was a non-turbo with the fat fenders and rims. It was one of 210 manufactured. I loved that car too. Other than a set of chain tensioners and timing chains, (common problem on 69-83 911 engines supposedly fixed on the 84 up 911 engines but mine were bad), it ran very well for the 7 years I owned it. The leather on the drivers side seat bolster did show some wear when I sold it though.

I wish I had that one back again.

The person I sold it to in 1993 still owns it.

    Re: 911 Turbo

I sold my boxster because I needed 4 seats, so I'm looking at the 996 (911).
I was told that the carrera gt kit can be built on the 996.

The classic 993 is great looking, I almost built one.
But I like the 996 better.

But then again, if you are going to spend the money, go all out!
