best bang for the buck, lightweight kitcar?

Hello, im looking for the lightest, bare basic, cheapest kit available. Im not looking for one with an engine, just the frame and shell. What are my options. I dont have a set budget atm, im just seeing whats out there. Something street legal in canada if possible, or something that can fairly easily be made legal.

Search for anything made by fiberfab. They are vw based, very lightweight (~1400lbs), lots of engine choices, and usually very cheap. Everything on a beetle can be upgraded as budget allows which is very handy.

Hmm, seems like a good option. I bet the shipping would be awful though :P But it may still be cheaper than buying one over here, thanks ill keep an eye out for those. Can those be legalized in canada?
