Not shore if I get the question.

According to my knowledge you can only weld metals to each other, preferably similar metals, otherwise it gets tricky. Have heard about plastic welding but thatís not what you are looking for either.

Bonding is a whole other story. You can bond just about anything to anything with the right bonding agent. Some of the current production cars have their panels bonded with epoxy to the chassis or to each other.

Kits that I know of, use brackets with nuts and bolts and bonding agents to get the body to stay where they want it to. But everyone does it a little different.

Again, explain more of what you are looking to find out.

All that I know is composites canít be welded, in the strict sense of the word, to metal or anything else.

I think that most people use window urethane to bond the body to the chassis

The method I used was to weld steel brackets and sub frames to the Fiero chassis, then bond steel to the fiberglass body (using a mating steel mount). Then bolted the steel welded to the Fiero and the mount fiberglassed to the body.

when you stretch a car your not really stretching it, but your cutting the entire car in half and adding 3-11" depending on what car your building. you cut the car. pull the rear back 11" (for a lambo) weld in braces and structural support

You seem to be new to kit cars and things of that nature. We all have to learn somewhere, and this is as good a place as any.

To help you along, try searching for some of the build diaries on this and the other kit car sites, they go into all the processes in great detail and with lots of pictures, it really gives you a great place to learn from and it will show you things that you have not thought about yet.

There is a bonding agent that I use for Vettes that is very strong and will not come apart. Have not had any problems with cracking.
