OEM pulled Egear plate and Trim ring!

I have two sets ready to ship. They are OEM PULLS with black trim ring and matching allen head screws. 240.00 shipped. Made from a general cast resin with body filler added for durability and finish. We can use a third party for shipping if anyone is weary about purchasing a product from me. I will only make these two as they are pretty time consuming to make. Let me know if anyone is interested. I will also be willing to trade for parts that have the same value.

they dont come out of the mold perfect and if you are not careful sanding and filling you will lose alot of detail, more can be sold one day but the main goal is to buy as many oem parts as possible the replicas fund that. This way the whole forum will soon have access on good parts

This looks to be a single cavity tool. I think you need to re-engineer the tooling for a near perfect casting, no flash. This is one of the simplist tools to make, since you are doing them in resin, I'm assuming urethane resin. Also, are you painting them with automotrive laquers?, or is the resin filled?

Cool! what material are you using to make those? They dont look like fiberglass.

Edit: I guess we posted at the same time, and you ended up answering my question.

Now onto another question, Why resin over fiberglass?

idk im stupid about fiberglass, but they do look perfect when finished, if there is a easier way to do it, we would like to know!

Its mainly finding pinholes in the resin that takes awhile. Im using a two part base clear. I casted it in RTV with a heavier mother mold. The quality of the pull all depends on what you pour, obviously. I have made a few plasticast pulls that come out smooth but very lightweight and feel a bit "cheaper". As apposed to the resin that I can fill with metal powder to give the piece some weight. They are really good looking pieces that have some real weight to them.

You should also do one of two things as you cast, either the professional way which is to pressure cast, Or the cheap way with open pour cavities, and yes it does work, I've been casting since 1993. Spray the open liquid resin pour with the mold release to pulverise the bubbles so you get decent castings once it cures.

I use mold release on every mold silicone or not. I get good products out of my open cavity molds so I will continue to use that mnethod. Pressure casting can get very expensive.
