For Sale - 3800 Series I Long Block Fully Rebuilt $400

    I have a fully rebuilt, 0 kms '92/'93 Series I 3800 long block.

The Long block was rebuilt but never installed by previous owner. I bought it for a possible install into my 308 project but I am going with the Series II engine instead.

The engine is naturally aspirated and can be confirmed by the casting number and solid Rear main seal which puts it 92/93 block N/A in the searching I have done. You can't use this block for a Super Charger as the internals are different

    $400 plus shipping

I am in Victoria, BC, Canada V9C 4M9 to help figure out shipping.

    Thanks
    Don

I will keep this pic of the lower intake from my original post so you can see the difference compared to what I thought would be a fit to the 3800. Not even close....

    Cheers

So, I just changed the title and price as I went to put the Inglese intake setup on the Series I and it wasn't even close. I have had this setup for 4-5 years stored away and wrapped up to stay clean ready for a 3800 and it would seem it would be for a 60* engine. Look at the intake setup on the LIM compared to 3800 intakes on both a Series I and Series II.

    What the heck.....

So, the sale is only the long block now and significantly cheaper.....

I am going to find out what the Inglese mounts on to and will make some calls as to sell or put ion something else. It looks a lot like the 3.4 head ports.....

    Too Funny

Buick blocks are different then Chevy ones, hence they will have different heads. Therefore it will not match. That intake looks like it would fir one of my old Chevy v60 2.8

The intake is for a Buick Series One. I switched to a Buick Series Two and the ports are off. Chevy will not work.

So I can't seem to win here with this setup...... Apparently I must have a Chevy Series I.

Why the heck do these auto makers who are all owned by the same damn company make it so difficult by making the same freakin' engine in different ways.......

Oh well, I will put everything up for sale and call it a day and stick with 3.4 DOHC's etc. instead of messing around with 3800's which I don't know enough about.

Son of a ....... Another well thought out plan gone sideways

    Cheers

According to this article your engine casting number matches the Buick Series I

    "•1990-’92 VIN L
The 3.8L block was updated with a one-piece rear seal in ’90. The Buick Regal was the only application for this engine in ’90, but the new “EV-6” motor was used for all the FWD cars and vans including the Lumina APV, Pontiac Transport and Olds Silouette from ’91 through ’92. Look for a block with either a 25532674 or 25534243 casting number. "

This gasket from a 1979-1987 Buick V6 looks like a close match for your intake. It appears that the intake is for an earlier Buick v6 231CI/3.8L, not your later model 3.8. Hopefully this info will at least help you identify the intake so you can sell it.
