    IFG Countach

    Looking at a IFG Countach on a Fiero......
    complete but got hurt in a garage fire.....
    drivers door damaged but comes with complete
    drives side door and frame......
    rest or car has smoke damage....
    asking $7000.
    anyone tell me about IFG....??

    You can't repair heat damaged fibreglass... it has to be replaced. Even in areas where there isn't any damage obvious to the naked eye, the heat from the fire would have compromised the polyester resin. All of that would have to be cut out and replaced provided you could find an undamaged section to graft your new fibreglass to. (Creating new body panels from scratch isn't a simple affair either!) In my opinion, you're asking for trouble if you buy this car. You will almost certainly end up overlooking parts of the body that are damaged from overheating, but which will resurface once painted and exposed to differential heating just sitting in the sun. This car isn't worth anywhere near the asking price at $7000(!)

    I wouldn't pay $7000 for a well built perfect condition non stretched countach.

    I've seen completed cars in good shape needing TLC sell for that price. That is TONS of work!!!

    RUN, don't walk away from this unfortunate mishap!!! There are plenty of better options coming every day. Lamborghinireplica.com, eBay, replica/kit makes....
