    wanting a wide track susp..

Anybody got or know anyone with a wide track suspsension?? I've got a 355 body on a fiero and am wanting to eliminate my spacers. And I'd like to avoid the huge prices Helds charges... I know they're good, but I'd rather not pay more than the rest of the cars worth.. lol. blutes@storm.ca

I built my own to the same specs as Fiero for the front and put in coil overs on the rear and made my own control arms.

I did not find it all that hard to do. There are lots of pictures and people talking about how to do it on this forum as well as the Lambolounge.

    Cheers

Re: wanting a wide track susp..

here is an email i received from RCC.

We make our front suspension in normal width, 1” extended (per side) for 2 inches wider and 2” extended (per side) for 4 inches wider. There is a charge of $15 per arm for the extended widths. Our front control arms are made for exclusive use of coilovers.

We can also make rear arms in a 1” extended or 2” extended width’s. The problem with extending the rear arms is the need for longer half shafts and the need to relocate outboard the upper strut frame mounts.

    Thanks for the inquiry.

Great info Don, though you wouldn't have pics that you could email to me could you?? they're not showing up. I'm buying a widetrack for the front for a great price, but I think I want to study your design for the rear. I'm just concerned about the change in geometry of the rear strut/coilover and the way it mounts in the strut tower. Pics would be really appreciated.... thanks, Brian............. blutes@storm.ca

Well, I thought I had the front suspension :-\ But, I guess you can't count on anything until you're actually holding the parts in your hands, can you..........
