Re: kit with separate rockers on da Bay

As the story goes, this kit was.....

    built in Grand Forks, Minnesota

Shipped to Los Angeles, California for original sale

sent to the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the next buyer

Then sent to Sacramento, CA to Chris(Delorean00)

He sold it to me in Erie, Pennsylvania

I personally trailered it to Jim in Sterling Heights, Michigan about a month ago

Now he is selling it on eBay here

This kit has honestly logged more miles than a real 355!! I would like to see who actually takes the time to finish it!!

I was thinking the same thing. That kit has logged more miles than any kit to date.

Wow, I'm almost tempted to put it a bid on it since it's not that far from me.

Bob, how was the quality on it? If it came from Grand Forks, was it a CCC body?

Re: kit with separate rockers on da Bay

It was suggested that this was one of Ron Larson's early cars that had the rockers attached to the doors. It did not come with a certificate of origin or anything like that but I have spoke with Ron and he said it sounds like one of his first cars he built.

The kit was starting to get a few stress cracks from being moved all around but not bad at all, I wouldn't even look twice at the blemishes. I did start to finish the body panels and got the rear deck lid in paint and the two doors in primer after roughing in the door scoops. I never bonded the top and bottom hood together because it needed some work that I didn't know how to do.

I sold the kit for $2500 and charged $250 for delivery which was not bad in my eyes(I spent $150 in gas, loaded the car up myself, spent 12 hours round trip driving, milage on my new truck and trailer, etc.) Now he is selling it for $2750 only a few weeks later. I noticed he did not list the mirrors either, I included the two side mirrors(bondo Bob's) which go for an extra $200 with the $2500 sale. Maybe he still wants the mirrors.

In all, it is not that bad of a kit at all. Compaired to an AD kit it is not accurate, but for a third of the cost it is a great starter.

I wish you would have bought it off of me for $2750 Bob .
