I am still considering it. I would really like to locate a Getrag 5-Speed to replace my existing Getrag. Do you know the serial number from the 4 speed? I want to uncover the final drive ratio.

The serial number is stamped into the transaxle. On a Getrag the serial number is stamped into the case on a machined flat spot near the oil filler spout. (Note the flat spot top photo)

On an Isuzu transaxle the serial number is stamped in the gear housing between the shifter boss and the engine bell housing. You can see it on the bottom photo between the two bolts sticking out of the bell housing

The Isuzu thansaxle is a five speed mated to the 2.5L 4. The Getrag is also a five speed. He is stating the transaxle is a 4 speed. The 4 speed muncie came with the 2.5L and the 2.8L.

    BTW green, whats an axel?

I know it is a Muncie 4 speed. I am looking for a final drive assembly (all of them will fit each others case) in a 4:10 - 1 ratio. Some of the Muncie 4 speeds had them. I can trace it by the serial number to see it it is one of them. My plan would be to install the final drive gears into a getrag producing a better final drive ratio than the 3:61 - 1 that I currently have. It is similar to replacing the ring and pinion gear in a normal rear wheel drive car.

    General Information

    MD9 3-SPEED AUTO 125THC ONLY AUTO USED
    MG2 5-SPEED MANUAL MUNCIE 3.61 RATIO V6 ONLY
    MT2 5-SPEED MANUAL ISUZU 3.35 RATIO L4 ONLY
    MY8 4-SPEED MANUAL MUNCIE 3.32 RATIO 1984 L4 ONLY
    M17 4-SPEED MANUAL MUNCIE 3.65 RATIO V6 ONLY
    M19 4-SPEED MANUAL MUNCIE 4.10 RATIO 1984 L4 ONLY
