Sean: I found out today that Roadway Express could be an option for you. It might cost about $250 to $300 USD. The engine needs to be in a wooden crate with skids under it so a fork lift can lift it off of the truck. They will only deliver to the dock in Tampa not to your home so you will need to use Robin's truck to pick it up. I will lend a hand if you need one.

    Sean & Dave,

That price sounds a little too good. Does that quote include the fuel surcharge? As a CDL class A driver, that price just sounds peculiar to me. That's what I paid to have a fiberglass 67 Shelby GT 500 nose piece (also crated due to size and fragility, in fact the crate weighed twice as much as the nose piece!) shipped from the west coast to Texas back in 2005, when diesel was about 2.50 to 2.80, before the speculators started gouging the crude oil prices. If it's an accurate price, get it quick! I assure they are losing money on that trip, and you won't get a better price elsewhere. Good find Dave!

Jeff: I didn't ask about a fuel charge. I would bet the engine would cost less than a nose of a car since the footprint would be smaller even though it would weigh more. Sean should confirm the pricing.

Thanks Dave for checking on that - I'll have Robin give them a call when she gets home. She is better to work a deal than I.
