    Anyone have spare door handles?

Well, as many of you may know the guy I bought the donor car from (Tony Sousa) stripped the car of every part and only gave me about half of them, so I am in need of a pair of the doorhandles that are on the outside of the car. I already have replacement locks which I've purchased.

Anyone Have any laying around their garage?

    Thanks,
    Ari

Re: Anyone have spare door handles?

I was thinking of going to my local junk yard to get them (By local I mean 45 minutes outside of Toronto), but have always hesitated because its so blasted cold, and I'd have to wake up at 7:00 AM on a SATURDAY to get there with enough time to pull them!

Thanks for looking out Dkov... someone actually offered to grab me some, but wanted basically $25-30 Canadian to get them to my door. Not terribly unreasonable, but I know that you can get them at the yards here for as low as $1 each.

Does anyone know if I could use another style of doorhandle instead? There's tons of firebirds in a yard which is closer to me, and the door handles look somewhat similar. Are the design that much different?

Ari, there is a yard here in Brampton that has 3 fieros in it.
The name of the place is Heart Lake Used Auto Parts.

    Got directions?

Also, any special instructions on how to get the door handle out?

I would think that the door handles from most any Pontiac of those years (84 - 88) would be the same or very similar. In fact, my cousin had a TA with those handles and my other cousin (his sister) had a 6000 LE that had the same handles.

I bet you could use almost any lever type mecha.

Oh, found some here locally. They cost you $4000 but he'll throw in the rest of the car for FREE

    Ari,

Did you find a set of handles yet? If not I have a couple sets of doors in the garage. I will check the handles out on them, I think some of them are broken but I will check anyways. I will check when I am in the yards tomorrow as well, They have 2 fieros.

    Sorry but i am lost???

    DOOR HANDLES on a F355?

umm the F355 doesnt have any DOOR HANDLES...

It uses a KEY-TURN-PUSH door lock mechanism that is found on most TRUNKS... Why not just get one of those to look authentic... probably wont look exact but its the KEYHOLE/DOOR PUSH POPPER like the real car has...

I dont know ARI people will know its not real right away...

Its a simple button type of "handle"... so find something off a TRUNK of a car... a flush mounted type that doesnt stick out so much... the BMW's usually have those... order a set... the passenger side does NOT HAVE TO HAVE A MATCHING KEY... just for looks and to lock it... you open the passenger door with power locks anyway...

    Well take care... long night...

    goodnite to all!

From what I've seen, on most 355 replicas you put door handles within the scoop to open the door. It's hidden from view but functional none the less.
