Some are. I recently got a ticket from one. When I went to court it was thrown out without me even seeing the judge or saying a word. Does a cop get any feedback or discipline if they write too many phony tickets?

I've met the best and worst of them. My nephew's grandfather is a very good cop as were the entire department when last I visited. I also have a friend who's a police officer in Sacramento. Great guy.

But yes, I've also encountered cops who were the scum of the earth and some who didn't have a brain in their skull. They're all human.

BUT, I've never met an American cop who walked up to an overturned car in the aftermath of a high speed chase and kicked the driver in the face, nor was I aware cops were allowed to do that in the US. LOL

Lay off of cops. They are good for us all.

If you're not confused, you're not paying attention.

I have no idea why he pulled me over. When he handed me the ticket I said "you don't have to do this". Obviously the judge agreed. What happens to a cop that writes tickets that the judge throws out? I'm asking cops here if there is a downside for a cop for writing bogus tickets.

Not all of them! That doesn't mean that I want to go back to the "wild west" where whoever has the fastest gun rules. I have never experienced the slightest brutality for what it's worth. I think that some people are attracted to the job for the wrong reasons. They like to wield authority. I think that some people change due to the fact that power can corrupt and end up bad. I think that there are very good people who are attracted to the job because they want to help people. Most of those people leave the force after having to work with the bad ones. I've known a few. Mostly good ones who left the force. I've met our resident cop and he was very personable. I hope that he is the same on the job. It must be hard to keep your perspective when you are dealing with the dregs of society most of the time.

    You know a few?

Most people don't even know a cop personally, but you know a few personally leave the job because of the "bad cops" who work with those few?

    Most leave?

Huh? No offense but stick to car topics. You are way off on the law enforcement topic. Sorry bud.
