    Tom,

Freaking cool vids man! That Vette seemed to do pretty good with the Ferraris.

Side note: did you see a space should be opening up for your car soon.

i think 3 weeks will be sufficient*

Scott could wait any longer, here is his progress report on my car.

Anyway, I decided not to wait on cutting your car in half despite not having level ground.* I figured that it didn't really matter if the chassis wasn't square anyway.* After I hacked it, down the middle of the seats, of course, I realized I didn't need to stretch it, so I just hacked the roof off each of the halves.* My "eyeball" is pretty close.* So, then I had four separate pieces...* kinda cool.

I propped up the rear with a rock and tack welded the front end back on.* It'll make a great oval car... it REALLY wants to go left now.* Plus, the driver's side sits about 2 inches lower than the passenger so you can really LEAN into those left handers.* I didn't have any steel laying around to weld the frame back together but I did have a bunch of craftsman wrenches so I just welded those in places that the gaps were really big.* Welding wire is pretty strong anyway, it should be enough, but the wrenches will keep your feet from hanging out the bottom of the car.* To give you that added protection, I went ahead and Duct Taped the gaps closed to also keep the loose change in and some of the noise out.

That being done, I mounted the body.* It's amazing how fast it goes when you use long deck screws and just drive the things right to the chassis.* Sure, there's a few screws showing but I'm sure they won't be that visible when the paint dries and it gives yo places to hang things like ribbons you'll win at car shows and your cleaning rags.

So it's going well...* I've got about 3 hours into the project and it's nearly finished!* *I'm anxious to see you drive it for the test run.* Lord knows I wouldn't get in there... er, it being your car and privilege and all.* Be careful though... since I cut the chassis where the seats go, there no place for them to bolt down so they rock a little.
    pretty damn funny...

    LOL

There really is something to be said about good old fashioned workmanship! Scarry, it sounds like some half finsished projects for sale on Ebay. ;D

BTW: I didn't know you were going for the oval track racing setup, sounds like fun tho.
