Fiberglass or steel door jam??? Opinions....

I build the drivers door jam for my F355 out of 16 gauge steel which took me a long time to get it finished the way I wanted it. I was thinking of making the passengers side out of fiberglass. If I did this I could use the quarter jam as a template and pull a part from it.

My main concern is strength. Would a fiberglass version be strong enough or should I just make it out of steel? Let me know your thoughts....

BOTH!! Just like Corvettes and other composite cars make the jam out of fiberglass for looks and ease of construction then make sure that your door latch (or catch in most cases) is bolted into steel that is tied back into some structure.
