Creating a fiberglass engine cover of F355 engine to fit over the Fiero 2.8
inspired me to create this poll.

It is fun if you are working on YOUR project. I imagine it is a different story if you are working on someone else's project or on something you have no interest in. I've done a lot of work with fiberglass and have not had the fiberglass itch everyone complains about.

I found some rubber gloves for cleaning that come up past the elbows. It helps a bunch to make fiberglass a little more tolerable.

    working with fiberglass, sucks as$

If you dont want to get that itchy feeling use talcum powder, just rub it all over your arms. The talcum will clog up your pores and won't let the mirco glass fibers get in to your skin that is what makes you itchy.

I will go out and say that I do not mind working with fiberglass. I use a crazy amount of latex gloves and I personally do not like the smell of polyester resin so I were a respirator. I find that I cannot smell epoxy resin at all, but the hardener is very scary stuff. Just make sure that the hardener does not get on skin. Like most things, you need a little knowledge and practice.

Proto, great tip. using duct tape on itch body parts helps too, as long as it doesnt pull the hair out. I hate sanding glass. I dont mind laying it up.

Guys please wear masks when you sand fiberglass. Itch is nothing like not being able to breath.
That said I don't sweat allot so lay up and sanding don't bother me I just take a cold shower and wear a mask.
