    Ball Joints and Tie Rod Ends for Hot Rod Race Cars

    Use Chrysler A arm and tie rod ones.

    New Moog ones.

    I say 'Hot Rod Race Cars' for cars that hot rod guys build that can turn left and turn right too.Handling cars.

    Those two ball joints should handle most of building situations.

    Use A arm ones for a arms and tie rod ones for 'control components' or links.

    The two ball joints have different range of movement.

    I mean 60's Dart Challenger and big C body like Imperial parts.

    Just pick out the right heaviness.

    They might all be the same two sizes.It's been awhile since I messed with Mopars.Only bought a couple anyhow.

    I know that I should not encourage this, but sixties Dodge Darts, along with most Dodge-Chrysler products, did not have a-arms. They were a linkage and a torsion bar, which made them notorious as NOT handling cars. That is why you never see any Dodge product at the local short track.

    You use the ball joints to BUILD your a arms and control arms.

    A ball joint goes on each a arm to connect it to the spindle top and bottom.

    Each control arm gets a ball joint on each end.

    One kind for the a arms and the other kind of ball joint for the control arms.

    There are threaded socket tabs ready made for the a arm ball joints.

    Get a pair of sockets before designing a arms.

    If we're talking about building suspension components from scratch then spherical bearings are a much better option for a race car than ball joints from the auto parts store.

    This is a project for the first time builder.Getting parts from the local parts store is a good thing.

    All you want is the ball joint.Some people are selling the whole lower control arm as 'ball joints'.You don't want those.

    Then you want the ball joints for the drag link.'60-67 Mopar's.

    Those two ball joints should handle all the steering and suspension needs for a homebuilt sportscar.

    CORRECTION:Above I might have said 'two ball joints'.

    It's ball joint and tie rod end.

    Those two parts are all you need to fabricate steering and suspension assemblies for a hot rod sportscar.
