    f40 on honda del sol?

    Anyone explored this possibility?
My girlfriend has one as was looking at it the other day. Realized the a pillar, roof line and door windows are really similar to the f40.
You'd definitely have the stretch the car and put a motor in the rear, Don't know about the windshield though or the width of the cabin area in relation to the f40.

    Any thoughts?

You can do it '' if you really want to , it can be done, just make sure you got a good welder, a good mechanic, etc . go for it

the cabin area is more suited to an f50 than an f40

Having been a big Honda guy untill i got into the kit car, I think the del sol is a great car but not for this application. the car is a unibody construction and to move the engine to the rear is alot of work just to have the windows look the same in my opinion. It would be easier to change out the windows and other little things.

Even though a rear mounted H22 turbo would be great in a del sol

maybe when my girlfriends del sol engine goes boom, I'll attempt it.
There was two del sol's I know of where they transplanted the engine in the rear.
One also showed very detailed pics of the process. The rear section of the del sol has very large thick frame rails something like the fiero.
In theory you could cut the body, stretch the rails and go from there. The car is already built super strong since its designed not to flex with the removable roof. Weld that on and reinforce it and its even stronger.
    Just thinking anyway.
