    F40 tail light wiring????

on the fiero tail light harness there are a bunch of wires thatall go to the same bulb for the tail light.
one ground, one for runing light when headlights are on, one for the brake, and one for the turn signal...
the are two eliments in the bulb, i believe it is an 1157 what one do i disconnect to get rid of the turn signal so it will then only do running light and brake light?

a diagram or pics would be great too.....
thanks in advanced for the help guys ;D

So let me see if I am reading this right, you want to do away with the turn signals all together and have the yellow turn signals lit up all the time like a running light? If that is correct there is plenty of leads for running lights in the rear Fiero Harness I would just run the turn signal lights off of the running light feed to have them on all the time.

If you need to know which color wires those are let me know, I just modified and rebuilt the Fiero harness on my car and wired up my factory F40 rear lights. I was impressed with myself because everything actually worked right the first time.

i'm not worried about the turn signals, i ran a seperate wire so the do nothing but blink as turn signals...
I would like to know what wire to get ridd of so the tail light is dim red when the headlights are on and bright red when the brake is on.... so getting rid of the turn signal all together on the red tail light

Ok, now I am confused ???

The way I wired my car up is:
-When headlights are on red tail lights are illuminated only (dim).
-When Brakes are applied red tail lights are illuminated only (bright).
-When turn signal is activated yellow turn signal is illuminated.
-When shifter is placed in reverse clear center portion of turn signal is illuminated.

I modified an uncut factory rear tail light harness to mount to my Ferrari F40 lights. I can tell you which wires I ran from the factory harness to each light if you are looking for the same set up as I have listed above. Let me know,
    Matt

That is how they wire up for a Ferrari.
If you're not confused, you're not paying attention.

    Re: F40 tail light wiring????

    Ok, I can Help

Starting with a Fiero GT wiring Harness (other models may vary) Open up the factory harness completely unwrapping it there are a ton of wires that will end up needing to be cut and extended. To maintain factory wiring colors you will need a selection of yellow, dark green, light blue, brown, light green, and black wires.

The yellow wire goes to your left turn signal.

The dark green wire goes to your right turn signal.

The light blue wire is for your stop lights.

The brown wire is for your tail lights.

The light green wire is for your back up lights.

If you have factory Ferrari F40 tail lights the turn signal wire is blue and the back up light is red with a black line. The Tail/Stop light uses the yellow wire for Stop and the red wire for Tail light. Of course all of these also require a ground wire.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions,
    Matt
