    Seat belt issues

In a 355 Spyder you remove the part where you attach the seat belt to the body where do you think is the best place to move the belt so that i might have some protection in an accident????

Bolt them to the top of the now exposed firewall frame.

    HEy Cowans...

About about some close ups of the rear shelf there and the roof around the rear glass. Especially back into the c-pillar.

Did you use MR2 glass as well or use Plexi?

Interestingly, we have the EXACT same seats

One more question, how and with what did you cover your B pillars?

    Thanks a mill...

    Hey Cowans-
Just did my seats this past weekend. Mike is the best. I'd like to do the seat belt like yours. Do ya have a shot of the seat back? Can't tell from this angle where your belts go thru.
    Thanks.

    Re:Seat belt issues

DKOV, The original seatbelt uprights are a fiberglass mold (U-shaped) that is
covered in thin foam and naugahyde. The roofline is a thin sheet of fiberglass(flexible)
covered in autoceiling material, same for the rearmost window sides! The rear window is
Plexi that was shaped on my wife's stove & bent around a barrel! The rearbase of the window is sheet tin overlapping
the firewall. From there the fiberglass window base is mounted. Then a naugahyde deck surround cover is screwed in.
One thing I did to clean up the base is use some 1" circular foam and wrap it in naugahyde, and place it
in the space between the bottom of the window and the deck cover. This cleaned up the space
nicely, without trying to cut out the window shape. The 1/4 windows are Plexi as well.
I love these seats & belts.
DEWEY, dam, you just did your seats!!! To do what I have, when the seats are apart, you must
dremel 2 slots in the seatback neck(make sure you don't dremel through the speaker wires!). From
there Mr. Mikes sewed in two 2" 'corridors' for the belts to pass through. The belts are then bolted
to the firewall using large steel plates(engine side) for support.
I have some pics of my unfinished interior upper shelf and 1 of the seatback unfinished! Unfortunately
they are on my HD at home. So, if you want them, let me know and i'll post them tonight!
