    In the USA if you pay a company / person to start a plug, then it,s your plug and work ,it is not theirs to sell or trade !!

    Wouldn't the work that murlgo did with the CNC and some aluminium be the best option to get a start?

    You could make a set of the aluminium plates and then mould those for the backing plates if you did not want to do the CNC. I am only thinking but maybe he could give someone the CNC code to they could have a new set built as a plug?? I am sure there would be a lot of interest in these tail lights.

    LED lights as he put in behind and away you go.

    My ears were burning. Was someone talking about me over here?
    FYI. Another builder is going to let me borrow some brand new LP640 taillights (2010) to try to replicate. I plan on using a CMM on the lens, use my CNC to make molds and try to make some exact copy lenses. Then I would also like to make some even better, more realistic inside light buckets as well.
    bear with me though, it won't happen overnight!
    My taillights have generated a lot of interest. If I make them for others, I want them to be even better than the ones on my car.

    Thanks

    murclgo;

    I bet you will get lots of interest from other builders if you can make a set of replicas as oem are pretty pricey. I would suggest the ones you made would also be an outstanding replica set as well for anyone doing the Murci. Sounds like you are very much like so many of the rest of us. Way too picky for our own good.....

    Looking forward to seeing what comes out of the replicaction efforts as that is never as easy as you first think........
