    engine swaps

Hey I was just wondering what you guys think the best engine swap is, that wont break your bank account. I dont know if i want a v8 because of the cost and the issues ive heard of with too much torque and so on. I was thinking of a nice v6 drop-in swap, that is cheap and wont require any mods to fit. I'm not looking for a super fast engine, just a decent one that i could get a nice 200-250 hp out of. Thanks

In my opinion, the easiest engine swap other than another Fiero V6 is the 3.4 V6 out of a Camaro or Firebird you can use most of your Fiero stuff like flywheel, AC, Computer, Intake (depending on the year of the new V6) etc. They drop in with the least hassle. I put a 3800 in mine, 5 speed. It was time consuming but works ok. I had to make my own flywheel, mounts, computer wiring and exhaust set up. You will be getting lots of responses to this one.

Ah but nothing sings that Ferrari song like a 3.4L DOHC motor revving out to 7500 wonderful rpms...

    Mmmmmm Butter!

Swap is pretty easy to. Direct bolt up to the tranny and the motor mounts. Much easier than either the 3.4 Pushrod (Camero/Firebird) motor or the 3800 or the V8.

The 3.4 twin cams do sound nice. I had a bit of trouble locating one so I opted for the Buick 3800.

    Hey MAPICS... You got CASH

    In other news...

I'm steadily working toward 550 HP on my 3.4L TDC and have already worked out revving to 9600 rpms...

All I need is a tranny that will hold together

    Re:engine swaps

I know this might sound a bit retarded,

But just to get our thinking Caps going, is it possible to drop a 454 Big Block in a Fiero? like mounting brackets, tranny mounts etc. can i happen? has it happened ?
