v8 or v10 sound for your kit car

Check this thing out. http://www.soundracer.se The soundracer. It's a device that you plug into your cigarette lighter & transmits v8 or v10 engine sounds to your stereo. It's so lame that it's cool.

I could see this being used in a kit car that looks like a Ferrari or Lamborghini or whatever but only has a 4 or 6 cylinder engine in it. You could connect an additional radio hidden away somewhere & some all weather speakers mounted under your car & have that big engine sound in your kit car. That way when you pass some guy on the highway it sounds like he just got passed by a real supercar. It may seem kind of silly, but a kit car can look perfect inside & out, but if it doesn't sound right then it's missing something.

I doubt the videos do it justice, because most camcorders have really crappy microphones, so it may sound better in person. Some one should give it a try. I have no affiliation to this company nor do I endorse this product in anyway. I just happened to stubble across it in my daily Internet browsing. I might have to pick up one myself someday, just to play with it.

Last year someone posted a link for something similar. It had all kinds of sounds from Chevy V8 to V-12 Ferrari and even a motor cycle and Vespa Scooter. Looks to be kind of the same thing.

You needed to put exterior speakers under your car. (I actually thought it was kind of neat too). This one seems quite a bit more "lame" then the one I heard,.). It's pretty cheap though and I guess it just makes the sound inside the car??

    EDIT:

Here's the other one. Down to $160.00 (Plus you have to buy speakers). It's called the VROOMBOX

    I also loved their motto. "Vroombox . . . The poser's Edge". (Priceless) ;D

There is an electric car, I think it's the new lotus evora that uses an engine sound so that pedestrians won't be surprised by it's approach.

I have been trying to get a hold of a VROOMBOX for 5 years now. The web page is still up, but they are not taking orders or return any emails. I do not believe that they are in business.
