LP640 Instrument Cluster, AC Controller, Steering Column?

I'm building a Fiero based LP640 and I was wondering what everyone is doing for instrument panels or if anyone is building a really good finished unit?

Also did Riceburner ever make a AC controller for the Fiero for the LP640? I've sent him a couple messages after reading the threads on the Diablo units (man did these look awesome) but I've never recieved a message back.

Last thing... what are you guys doing for a steering column replacement for the Fiero? The stock column is pretty long and could stand to be a little closer to the dash.

    Thanks,

    Chris

I believe a few people here have some descent looking instrument clusters I think ItalianKnightRider is among them. You can pm him and he should be able to give you more info.

For the steering column a lot of people are using the Chrysler Sebring LXi column which seems to be very close to the LP640 column.

I do believe that some folks did use Riceburner's ac unit and it looks very nice. Saw this on lamborghinireplica.com but I think it is Riceburner's unit.

This is what I did, Lxi column with an OEM column cover modified to fit. Came out pretty nice just need to wet sand base and matte clear it.

    Very cool steering column look!

How are you guys dealing with the Fiero wiring harness to the new steering column connections (all custom connections?). I'm assuming that you'd need to get the turn signals, ignition, horn and cruise control working? The wipers, brights and hazzards are on there also I think.

Is this a basic bolt-in installation or is there some fabrication that must occur?

Any paticular year of LXI work for this swap or is there a preferred year?

Thanks for the replies guys... this is very helpful stuff!

There was a thread awhile back on this column with wiring diagrams and all. Its a fairly easy swap as far as wiring goes but the bolt on part is a bit tricky. Youll have to lower the mount points and "push" the column in a few inches otherwise its just too high.

Jets303 - the column cover looks really nice, did you have to do a lot of modifications to the OEM cover for it to fit the Sebring column?

The whole right side of the column was restructured to fit. I used the sebring key hole as a starting point to use all new fiberglass and filler. I then copied the OEM lambo style recessed leg piece. The left side wasnt as bad but still required some fill work with fiberglass. Over all a 6 in difficulty. If your good with fiberglass then it shouldnt be too hard.
