    Good Price for AFI Countach

I am the high bidder on an auction for a replica countach, what is a good price for an AFI replica car? It is complete and looks to be in good condition. Is the AFI kit any good? Any help would be most appreciated!

AFI as in American Fiberbodies International?

I haven't seen one of those in years, but yes, they were very good quality. From what I recall, they were originally built in Jackson, MS and then relocated to Xenia, OH before going out of business. I knew of a guy building one in Columbus, MS and it was extremely impressive.

I also got up close and personal with the company demo at a show in Atlanta just before it got destroyed. This was in August of 1995. It was raining the day of the show and they had this gorgeous and very well built white AFI Countach on display under a tent. Shortly after I left the show, supposedly the tent top somehow got full of water and then collapsed onto the car. I was told by a friend who stayed later than I that the car was severely damaged by the impact of the water and the tent.

From what I saw, quality of the body was very impressive, and much better than most. Both cars I saw were built on tube frame chassis.

This is a tube chassis, and looks to be very nice. The seller wants $13500, and that seems like a great deal. I cannot find anything about the price of these cars, and I just want to be safe! Thanks for the reply mlochala!

Seems like a hell of a deal. I don't think you'll find another one like that for anywhere near that price.

As I grew up in Jackson, MS i knew these guys. They seemed overpriced in the day, but it was an awesome looking car. They were well built, and that sounds like a great deal to me. You don't see them very often anymore.

They did use a hand made chassis and the ones I saw at there facility were very impressive. One person on here said the front is off from the original, but not so much as I could tell it. They look great in person.

The AFI kits look like a direct rip off from the Prova kits.
