battery removal on the JWAD F355?

Anyone other than myself come to the conclusion that removing the battery is near impossible in a John Watson Air Dynamic after the body has been installed?

What have people done in this regard?

I feel for you! i had the same problem on my scratch build car, i built the chassis, installed the engine and the battery, then added steering, wheels electrics body etc.. When the battery went and needed changing i had a nightmare of a job. I hope the new battery last a long long time, as I do not want to go through that again!
    Cheers

Its just as hard getting the battery out in a stock Fiero. What I do,is disconnect the battery cables,Put on some leather gloves, then I tilt the battery on its end.Stand in a crate if you need to,then slowly lift that sucker onto any flat spot you see.

I know what you mean about the fiero battery, but it gets way harder in an AD355. The solution is to put the battery up front and get better balance in the process.

That's what Shane and I did. I'm not sure what Chris did.

well like a damn dummy I put the body on without realizing that the battery's no longer removable. No I have to cut the fiberglass under the rear window the get it out.

DON'T CUT. Since you need a new battery anyway, buy one and install it in accessible spot. Up front or in the rear trunk. Disconnect your battery cables and then extend them to the new battery.
Leave the old battery where it is. IF you remove the engine or gain access on a future repair, remove it then.
It should not harm anything if you leave it there, unless it is leaking.

Battery dead from sitting. we have no room to work on the engine. cant even pull two plugs (3.4 swap).

Cars been sitting for years and we are trying to get engine ready for a restart.

consider dropping the cradle instead of cutting through the body.
I know it's a lot of work, but not as much as trying to bond your body back together....seamlessly, and correctly.
    Sorry.

what about a firewall mod? some type of hinge? it would serve two purposes; one battery access and two, engine work around...

    Anyone done this?
