Molding rubber parts - Help please

I have a few pieces I need to make with a soft black urethane rubber with a shore hardness of about 40A. Does anyone know where to purchase a small amount?

Smooth-on has a few products that I think will work but I don't really know the difference from the VytaFlex, ReoFlex, and the PMC-121. Has anyone used these products?

Also, would a silicone mold be the correct material that could be used for the negative?

Bump this back up to the top for ya.
I'd like to know as well. I've got some pieces made of rubber that I'd like to duplicate and offer to other Ferrari replica builders.

Synair makes a great product for the mold. It's called POR-A-MOLD. Stronger than silicone and stays flexible

As for the part, you may need to make it from two part silicone

ahh, something I know a little about lol

smooth-on makes a 40 durometer silicone, but keep in mind that when you get into the higher durometers , your master can't have severe undercutts, dow corning makes a black rtv though i've not used it

    MacGyver,
I use reoflex 60 dry to make molds all the time. Works good but make sure to use mold release spray (Mann 300, also sold by smooth-on).
As for the part itself, they do sell a black semi-rigid urethane (don't remember the shore hardness or product number but it's harder than 40 for sure). If you can find a local store selling their products you can get free cured samples to compare. Most of their products can be purchased in small trial kits, about 2 lbs from approx 20-35$. If you find a shore hardness you like you can also tint it using their "so-strong" color tints.

BTW, using a pressure pot helps a lot for casting the part itself...

    jntramey,
If you want some rubber on the stiff side, www.aeromarineproducts.com offers a black urethane rubber that is 75A hardness. You can purchase this stuff for $35.00 for a half gallon mix. It even comes with the mold release in the kit. I purchased a bunch of there products from them in the past.

I'm trying to find something softer for my purposes. 75A is stiff like a tire.
