    Targa Top has arrived

I finally have some preliminary pics of my targa top that I have acquired.

There looks to be a fair amount of work to do to get it lookin' pretty but I will be posting pics here as well as looking at getting molds made for the targa portion as it is all fiberglass.

Looks like I still have the picture size all messed up on this. Sorry everyone for the size of the pics. New camera and geting settings figured out.

    Enjoy.
    Don

Rear frames in place more or less. Targa fits on to top of front rear frame.

Shot of how the rear frame goes up to window.

More or less what the top looks like folded down.

What the top looks like on the car when complete.

Top from the rear of the car.

    Targa portion of top.

    Targa portion from rear.

Inner panel of the targa portion.

Hi Don, nice shots. You must have a new camera now. Billspyder was selling a targa like that, is it the same one? I thought about getting one that folded flat like that. Will the lid open with the top down? Rob

HEY DON, GOOD JOB. LOOKS VERY NICE. I ASSUME THERE IS A SEAM WHERE THE BACK OF THE TARGA ATTACHES TO THE FRONT OF THE REAR FRAME,THAT FOLDS DOWN. IS THIS GOING TO BE RAIN PROOF?

ooops, not that any one of us would actually be out intentionally driving around in the rain, but down south you never know when a thunder storm might happen.

    Don:

Thank you for posting the photos for all of us to view. I have a few of the photos of the one Bill Welsh (B & B Spyders) made at one time. I think a combination of the two designs might be great.

Hi Dave, how are you progressing on your top/project, using thr capri top and header? I talked with JW today, he assured me that the capri top would work with a good bit of manipulation. BTW my spyder kit has now gone into the 4th week due to some circumstances JW has had to deal with. no big deal for me, I am on my way this weekend to west Palm Beach to pick up my 88/auto/v6 donor I won off ebay auction.

    Re:Targa Top has arrived

I have not tried to open the rear engine cover with this down but I do not think it will work very well as it overhangs the engine cover by a few inches.

The targa top seals on to the front and rear section with some foam rubber. I thought of the saem thing when I got the top as to whether it will leak. I do not think so but will be testing the seal whne I get it mounted properly.

This top did not come from Bill Syder. It was from a manufacturer of kits that no longer makes them but had some of these types of parts left over when shutting down the business.

Funnywheels, I am going to have a better look at how that top is built and see what can incorporated into my top so as to fold up a little cleaner than mine. Any other pictures you have of that top frame you could post or send me?

    Cheers
