Replaced distributor, engine now not turning over

After replacing the EGR tube and pick-up coil in the distributor, the car is now put back together. The marks I made on the distributor where rubbed off somehow so the timing on the car will need to be set again. When I went to start the car it wouldn't turn over. Once I turned the car off, and then tried to turn it on again the engine wouldn't even "choke" this time (I'm not sure what the correct term is). I didn't have time to check error codes, will do that later today when I get home..

Is this a timing problem, or something bigger?
    Thanks,
    Ari

Re: Replaced distributor, engine now not turning o

Do you mean it wouldn't crank over, or it wouldn't fire? If it doesn't fire, I'd say your timing is way off, or you forgot to plug something back in. If it doesn't crank, then you forgot to plug something back in, or something's screwed up.
