Re: 355 tail-lights (HOUSING AND INSTALLATION)

hey guys, what I did was create a hole in the fiberglass for the fiero's bulb to plug into it. Then I made a bracket that mounted to the taill ight and from that bracket I added a few longer screws and then mounted it to the fiberglass. Go to my site for photos and a better description. It is about 3/4 of the way down this page http://www.angelfire.com/ri2/ferrari_spyder/Rear.html

Hey Mad, Are those aftermarket or OEM lights? If they're copies please tell where I can get a set.
Or if anyone else has a source for authentic looking (not squared off or Vette units)please post for me. Thanks, Vinny*

    MAD:

Here are a few photos to give you some ideas to make your mounts. The photo is a Watson inner tail light panel (grey part) made from a Challenge Car 355 tail panel.* I have also included a photo of a 355 OEM tail light (parts used on Tommy Hilfiger's 355 Challenge Car) for reference.* The sub-panel is mounted between the rear fenders and is supported by a metal frame attached to the Fiero chassis, this panel holds the tail lights in position, the metal (Black) OEM rear valance panel slips over the lenses and bolts to the sub-panel.*

I sold these parts to DKOV sometime back for use on his Mirage kit.* He may have them for sale or ideas on how to do some other non OEM type of installation.

If you're not confused, you're not paying attention.

For those of us who can't afford OEM stuff, here is what I did.
MAD, yes my tail lights are exactly those. I mounted tractor trailer LED lights into the base of the tail light panel. Then I wanted to see them under the lens. BTW this is after paint. I warmed the lens in water and pressed it into the opening until I achieved the desired depth (from pics I took of a real car). Then it was time to remove them, I CAN'T. They are in there so tight I am not going to worry about any type of fastener.
